Underwater Tears

Can People cry underwater?

This question seems so simple yet so hard to answer. Due to the fact that crying could lead to many complications like dying, drowning which would lead to dying, or taking in too much water which would lead to drowning and potentially dying. Do you see what all of this has in common? Most people just believe you will die eventually from crying. There are always people to question whether or not thats true because of science or their personal experience. So the big question is can people cry underwater?

Many people argued the fact that crying underwater would kill you because of their definition of crying . Once you began to cry your breathing uncontrollable and that would cause a person to take in so much water. Seda Oz, a citizen in the world,  agreed yes you can cry underwater but death is the answer. He said, "Tears come from the lachrymal ducts around the eyes.  It doesn't matter when they're activated or how, you'll still tear up! So You can cry tears, they would just be mixed with the rest of the water.  What would kill you is the actual crying itself." Crying is the act of uttering inarticulate sounds with tears. If american citizen isn't enough evidence then maybe an engineer will be, Sami Musta, an electronics engineer , argued that, "Well, if you meant sea by the water, then we can't cry. Because sea water's derivation is way more than our tears'. And if we have a glass upon our eyes, that would be cheating and not to be considered as under water. Although, if we are in a pool or something, there's no reason for us to not cry under water. Because our tears contain salt as well and have more derivation than pool water. So we can cry. " His theory is that you can cry in a pool then yes but by ocean no.

I support all these theories but I believe that crying underwater is possible. Crying underwater just leads to the tears diluting in the water.  From my personal experience you can cry without heavy breathing for sometime. But if you're underwater crying you eventually have to come up for hair because you will need to breathe. I also believe you can cry under water because in the movie The Descendants , Shailene Woodley did it herself.
